Welcome! This blog is all about having a little fun building a custom AMC Pacer Pickup. Please enjoy, make comments, and leave your own stories about Pacer Pickups or other custom Pacers you’ve seen or heard about. Have you sketched a cab for your pacer truck? I have ALS/Lou Gehrigs disease.. Life is short.. A pacer that could haul my power chair sounds infinitely more fun than a lowered dodge grand carivan
Is this project dead or what? Are you planning to sell it or have you already done so?
The Pacer project is not dead but on hold. Unfortunately there are too many things pressing that require more attention. Had a few mishaps moving it when we sold our house and was so dissapointed I had to back off for awhile. Thanks for your intewrest, Rob.
I am very interested in talking with you about your Sundancer Project. Especially the rag top.
A very cool project! Never thought of a Pacer pickup, and you did it very well, through trial and error. Do you still have the truck? And are you planning a new project?
I’ve always got something in mind I’d love to do. Just not sure I have the stamina for it anymore. I do have a Early Hornet 2-door sedan that I am going to build as a semi custom. Probably get started in a year or so.
would you take on a javelin project for me to make all these camaro guy shut up
Take a look at my updated AMX sketch on another blog of mine J4FMotorsports.wordpress.com.
Hi Robert
Do you have any idea of a list of how many Sundancer’s that Griffith Conversions manufactured, and if not, who may know. I am missing a tag in my Sundancer and wanted to know what production number it may have been. Probably, Only Jack knows
Any additional info on retrofiting rack and pinion mustang conversion. What year did you use? What tie rod ends. Please help.
I used a early 90’s rack and tie rod ends. They fit right into the AMC links. Be sure to keep the rack as far left as you can. It will make it easier to fit the steering shaft around the exhaust manifold.
Robert,
What front sway bar did you use? I have a 52 Chevy truck with pacer front end. I need to tighten her up a bit.
Thanks!
I used a V8 Pacer swat bar on the front. The rear came with the Mark VII rear end.
Awesome thanks. Now i have to try and find one. I’m sure they are not easy to come by.
do you still own car . i have a pro touring pacer. completed april 2019. i would like to talk to you.
I do still own it.
